    In recent years, under the background of energy conservation and emission reduction, major countries in the world have issued mandatory high efficiency distribution transformer standards.Our country issued the new standard GB 20052-2013 in 2013, which was updated on May 29th 2020 and will be enforced in 2021. To meet the updated transformer standards and energy efficiency upgrade, it is important to enhance the magnetic properties of core materials. Baosteel had developed new products B18R055 and B20R060 in the fourth intelligent factory of silicon steel, which were successfully used for grade S15 energy efficiency distribution transformers. The typical properties of B20R060 product were two grades higher than the highest grade of international  silicon steel with the same thickness, and the B18R055 product is the lowest iron loss oriented silicon steel in the world. In this paper, the properties and transformer performance of B18R055 and B20R060 are introduced, expecting favorable for material selection of transformer manufacturers.

    According to the development trend of domestic nonoriented silicon steel in recent ten years and the future development prospect of downstream industry, the demand of domestic nonoriented silicon steel in the next 15 years is predicted. It is estimated that by 2025, 2030 and 2035, the annual demand of nonoriented silicon steel in China will be 11.25 million tons, 13 million tons and 15 million tons respectively. Among them, the proportion of medium and high grade brands should be increased from 20% to 30%, 40% and 50% respectively. It is the general trend to focus on the development of medium and high grade nonoriented silicon steel. However, in the future, medium and high grade nonoriented silicon steel will face fierce market competition, so we should improve the market competitiveness from two aspects of product quality and cost control.

    High performance electrical steel is one of the important raw material products indispensable for the modernization construction, highquality development and people's life in China. It is also the development direction of highquality development, product upgrading, energy conservation and environmental protection of electrical steel industry in China.The production capacity of electrical steel, the capacity of normalization (acid pickling), the capacity ,output change and apparent consumption of electrical steel in recent five years, were studied and analyzed in this paper ,as well as the future demands of transformer to high magnetic induction oriented electrical steel (HiB), and medium and small motors, large motors, household appliances, new energy vehicles, emerging fields, etc. to high grade (high efficiency, high magnetic induction) nonoriented electrical steel, and electric power, aerospace, medical devices and household appliances etc. to extremely thin electrical steel strip (the thickness less than 0.1 mm). At the same time, the demand of high performance electrical steel in China is predicted and some suggestions are put forward.

    The performance of oriented silicon steel is the main factor determining the loss of transformer. The implementation of the new energy efficiency grade standard puts forward higher requirements for oriented silicon steel. Combined with the development of transformer and oriented silicon steel, the relationship between transformer loss and the properties of oriented silicon steel were analyzed in this paper, and the demand prediction of oriented silicon steel after the implementation of the new energy efficiency grade standard was put forward.

    According to the application requirements of high-performance grain-oriented (GO) silicon steel for electical equipments such as power frequency energy saving transformer, medium frequency isolation transformer , and low frequency transformer, the electromagnetic characteristics of 0.10-0.27 mm GO steel under different working frequencies were studied by an arbitrary waveform magnetic field excitation measurement system. Compared with 0.10 mm ultrathin GO steel, 0.18 mm high magnetic induction GO steel has lower core loss in the frequency range of 15-400 Hz. The core loss of 0.18 mm sample is not only lower than that of 0.23 mm and 0.27 mm products in the rolling direction (RD), but also has the advantage of minimum loss in the transverse direction (TD). However, for materials with the same thickness, low loss in RD does not mean low loss in TD. The differences of electromagnetic characteristics of silicon steel with different thickness were analyzed, and the results can support the core materials selection of different types of transformer. Finally, the future development trend of thin-gauge GO steel was prospected in terms of the performance requirements of core materials for power frequency, medium frequency and low frequency electical equipments.

    The characteristics of the motors used in electric drive cars and the requirements for silicon steel were described, and the electromagnetic properties and mechanical properties of high yield strength nonoriented silicon steel and traditional nonoriented silicon steel were compared and analyzed by experiment. Through the verification and analysis of the finite element model, the highyieldstrength silicon steel motor can achieve the characteristics of low loss and high mechanical strength at high speed, which can help for the application of soft magnetic materials and the optimization of motor structure to form a closed-loop mode.

    The isolated DC transformer based on high- performance soft magnetic material (SMM) is the key equipment that supports DC collection boost of large-scale new energy, multi-voltage DC networking, and interconnection of DC transmission and distribution. The microstructures and grain orientations of 0.15 mm grain-oriented (GO) silicon steel, 0.10 mm ultra-thin (UT) silicon steel, and 0.025 mm amorphous alloy samples were studied by optical microscope (OM), electron back scatter diffraction (EBSD), and transmission electron microscope (TEM) techniques. The magnetic properties of the threee types of SMM at medium frequencies were researched using an arbitrary waveform magnetic field excitation measurement system. The modeling and simulation analysis of the medium-frequency isolation transformer (MFIT) core and winding in DC transformer were carried out using COMSOL finite element software. Physical models of the MFIT based on the threee types of SMM were built and experimental verification were completed. Results showed that, completely different microstructures of materials lead to different medium-frequency magnetic performance and magnetostrictive noise characteristics. The loss of 0.10 mm UT steel is higher than that of 0.15 mm GO steel at frequencies of 100 Hz~1 kHz. However, the no-load loss of the 0.10 mm UT steel MFIT model is 20.7 % lower than that of the 0.15 mm GO steel MFIT model under the rated condition of 400 Hz/35 kVA. The latter one has the advantage of low loss at frequencies of 100~200 Hz, minimizing noise as well as a large space for capacity expansion. Besides, the amorphous alloy MFIT model has the lowest no-load loss as well as the highest load loss and noise. Application prospects of the threee types of SMM in different scenarios and capacities of isolated DC transformers were discussed.

    The factors affecting the adhesion of electrophoretic paint were studied through the industrial test of electrophoretic paint on inorganic components, organic components and non-oriented silicon steel coating samples containing different resin components. The results showed that the inorganic components in the coating have no adverse effect on the adhesion of electrophoretic paint, and the resin components in the coating have a significant effect on the adhesion of electrophoretic paint.

    Without electromagnetic stirring and normalizing annealing equipment for the production of high-grade non-oriented silicon steel, the bell furnace annealing equipment was used to produce highgrade 50BW350 non-oriented silicon steel products in BX Steel by formulating reasonable chemical composition and process system. The results showed that the produced 50BW350 non-oriented silicon steel meets the standard requirements with the magnetic induction of  1.70 T and iron loss of 3.1 W/kg, and the mass production of high-grade non-oriented silicon steel 50BW350 is successfully realized in BX Steel.

    The production pathway for cold-rolled silicon steel is relatively long, and the process control is complex. The production organization mode of conducting offline magnetic property testing during the final annealing stage of the finished product cannot meet the quality control requirements for correcting process deviations during intermediate stages to enhance product performance stability. In this paper, machine learning algorithms such as XGBoost, LightGBM, and Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) were utilized. By comparing the advantages and disadvantages of different algorithms, the magnetic property prediction models using XGBoost and LightGBM algorithms can meet the requirements for selective adoption and application in large-scale production conditions. These models support the prediction of the magnetic property levels of finished products during the production processes of various intermediate stages, thereby guiding process adjustments and ultimately stabilizing the magnetic properties of the final products.

    The reason of harmonic wave in the magnetic flux density was analyzed according to the magnetic circuit characteristic, distribution of magnetic flux density, magnetic properties of silicon steel sheet and connection mode of excitation winding. Using the spectrum analysis results of magnetic flux density in the frame of the core as the measurement condition, the service properties of GO silicon steel sheet applied to 3D wound core transformer were measured. The basis of the measurement method was proposed by analyzing the magnetic properties of different size GO silicon steel sheets and their application status in 3D wound core. The type selection suggestions was proposed by the test results of different size silicon steel sheets.

    In order to increase the power density of traction motor for new energy vehicles, major motor manufacturers have been constantly increasing the motor speed. The following problem that manufacturers have to solve is how to reduce the increasing iron loss when the motor speed is increased. The components and influencing factors of motors’ iron loss were discussed in this paper, and an 8pole 48slot permanent magnet synchronous motor using three different thickness materials was simulated. To compare its efficiency and iron loss distribution, the relationship of the thickness of silicon steel in drive motors, the iron loss and the cost were derived. And finally some recommendations for the selection of drive motor materials were put forward.

    Gas chromatographic analysis is a common technique to detect oilimmersed transformers in operation. By collecting a small amount of transformer oil samples to analyze the gas composition and content in the oil, it can be judged whether there are faults or hidden dangers in the transformer.The coils and cores of oilimmersed transformers are all installed in transformer boxes and immersed in transformer oils, so it is impossible to observe the hidden trouble of transformer directly. The application of gas chromatography to transformer detection can fully solve this problem. In this paper, the gas chromatography was used in practice, and quickly discovered the hidden trouble of the equipment, which provided an effective means to deal with the hidden trouble of the equipment thoroughly and guarantee the stable operation of the equipment.
