Abstract: According to the development trend of domestic nonoriented silicon steel in recent ten years and the future development prospect of downstream industry, the demand of domestic nonoriented silicon steel in the next 15 years is predicted. It is estimated that by 2025, 2030 and 2035, the annual demand of nonoriented silicon steel in China will be 11.25 million tons, 13 million tons and 15 million tons respectively. Among them, the proportion of medium and high grade brands should be increased from 20% to 30%, 40% and 50% respectively. It is the general trend to focus on the development of medium and high grade nonoriented silicon steel. However, in the future, medium and high grade nonoriented silicon steel will face fierce market competition, so we should improve the market competitiveness from two aspects of product quality and cost control.
