The mass transfer characteristics of vacuum refining process under the top oxygen blown conditions in a RHMFB unit are simulated by experiment on absorption of CO2 using NaOH diluted solution, and influences of such a few factors as the lifting gas flow rate, top blow gas flow rate, top lance height, diameter of the up and down snorkels, immersion depth of the snorkels and number and distribution of nozzles on the mass transfer investigated by a 1∶5.45 water model of a 120 t RH-MFB unit and the volumetric mass transfer coefficients measured under the various parameter combinations and the relation between the volumetric mass transfer coefficients and partial pressure of CO2 further clarified. Results indicate that the mass transfer coefficients increase with growup of the lifting gas flow rate, top blow gas flow rate, partial pressure of CO2, inner diameter of snorkel and immersion depth of snorkel.
