Abstract: In order to study the influence of limestone slagging on the composition and recovery of converter gas, industrial tests of slagging and steelmaking with different limestone substitution ratios were carried out on a 100 t converter. The research results show that when the molten iron temperature is between 1 350 ℃ and 1 650 ℃, The CO2 produced by the decomposition of limestone can be used as a weak oxidant to react with the elements in the molten iron to form CO. The order of reaction is [Si]、[Mn]、[C]、[Fe]. Industrial tests have confirmed that the CO2 produced by the decomposition of limestone can indeed participate in the oxidation reaction of molten iron. With the increase of the substitution ratio of limestone, the proportion of CO in the furnace gas will increase. Compared with lime slagging process, the gas recovery volume per ton of steel in limestone slagging steelmaking process is increased by about 16.12 %. It can be seen that the substitution of limestone for slagging can also increase the recovery level of converter gas.
