Abstract: Carbon neutrality has become a key focus of China and the world in the new stage of development and competition. The low-carbon of the entire industry chain after reaching the peak of carbon emissions is becoming a key proposition. As an important functional material, silicon steel plays an important role in the low-carbon value of the power industry chain. On the one hand, due to its complex process and long process flow, the carbon emission intensity of the production process is relatively high; On the other hand, high-grade silicon steel, with its excellent electromagnetic performance, brings enormous carbon reduction potential to the industrial chain in the processes of power generation, transmission, and consumption. LCA is an important method for calculating the carbon reduction value of silicon steel at the industry chain level throughout its entire lifecycle, and has guiding significance for evaluating the economic and social value of using high-grade silicon steel in carbon scenarios. In addition, with the gradual implementation of the EU CBAM carbon border tax, the silicon steel industry needs to adapt to the policy environment based on corresponding computing capabilities and create low-carbon competitiveness with high-level structures as the core through LCA based analysis.
