Abstract: In order to resolve the breakout warning in slab continuous casting of Guofeng Steel, Mould copper plate, mold flux, liquid level fluctuation of mold flux, stabilizing casting speed and replacing of the submerged entry nozzle were analyzed and optimized by the field survey analysis. By these measures, the average warning number of the two continuous casting machines was reduced to 8 times from 26 times per mouth, which greatly improved the production efficiency of casting machine.
