Abstract: The factors affecting the RH snorkel magnesiachrome brick erosion rates were researched. By controlling argon flow rate, developing a standard baking flames, changing the order of adding alloy, improving RH snorkel utilization, the common average life of the RH snorkel has been increased from 78 heats to 86 heats, increased by 10.25 %, and steelmaking costs are reduced effectively.
