Abstract: The effects of microstructure and texture on mechanical properties and anisotropy of A and B high grade non-oriented silicon steel with different thickness were studied. The results showed that in the finished plate, the grain size of sample A is larger than that of sample B, and the main texture components in the two silicon steels are α* texture, γ texture and λ texture. Solid solution strengthening plays a dominant role in the strength contribution of silicon steel. The increase of Si content enhances the effect of solid solution strengthening, which leads to the increase of the strength of the finished plate and the decrease of the elongation. The anisotropy of the yield strength of silicon steel is due to the different Schmidt factors. The Schmidt factors of {111}〈110〉, {112}〈110〉 and α* textures in the RD direction are larger than those in the TD direction. A75 and B60 show the highest yield strength in the alloys of their respective components.
