Abstract: Carbon emission calculation was done in this paper by analysis of RH desulphur process, fluxes and application of electrical steel. The set conditions are of 0.001 5 % decrease of sulphur content, flux addition amount of 7.5 kg/t steel, and calcium aluminates and CaO-CaF2 combination were chosen. The results showed in consequence that the production of the two fluxes generate carbon emission of 2.362 kg CO2/kg and 0.788 kg CO2/kg, and that of 405 kg CO2/ t steel and 416 kg CO2/ t steel during flux desulphur application process. The carbon emission in use of silicon steel was also discussed and estimated, which says RH desulphur process is playing important role in silicon steel production.
