The strip breaking defects of grain-oriented silicon steel during the cold rolling were tracked, and the evolution process from skinning to hole formation and then to strip breaking was clarified. The scar defect was studied by peeling electron microscope. The results showed that the main elements in the scar defect were Fe, Si and Al, which were consistent with the matrix, and there were also trace elements such as Ca, Mg, K and Na. Cold rolling peeling and breaking was mainly due to hot rolling edge cracking defects inherited. The reasons why peeling and flaking were that part of the edge during the hot rolling occurred flesh out and splashed and was pressed into the surface of the hot rolled plate, and inconsistency of elongation and matrix during cold rolling. By reducing the slab heating temperature, shortening the furnace time of high temperature section and optimizing the rolling model, the edge crack of hot rolled strip was effectively restrained, and the problem of cold rolling strip breaking was solved.

With the merger of Baosteel and WISCO,the varieties of grain-oriented silicon steels in the two production bases of Baoshan and Qingshan have been integrated. In order to further give full play to the scale benefit, improve the production efficiency and improve the competitiveness of enterprises, the standardization and feasibility analysis of the mechanism were carried out for the important link of production and marketing collaboration. On the premise of establishing and implementing the unified product enterprise standard, the quantitative decision-making method of production and marketing collaboration was discussed, which transformed the actual business problem into a mathematical programming model and obtained the optimized order receiving and material feeding suggestions by solving the model. It provided a theoretical basis for balance between the production side and the sales side, so as to maximize the effects of "scale", "benefit" and "efficiency".

As the tightening of environmental protection policies, environmental protection coating products of non-oriented silicon steel have increased rapidly in recent years. The surface of the environmental protection coating liquid, of which the composition is different from that of traditional chromium-containing coating liquid, is poor on the quality stability and prone to various defects. In the process of producing a certain non-oriented silicon steel, black spot defects appeared on the surface, which impacted greatly on the stability of the production line and the yield of the product. Through macroscopic observation, scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy spectrum analysis, on-site simulation experiments, the causes of black spots were analyzed and control measures for such defects were put forward, which effectively reduced the incidence of black spot defects.

The historical development and current situation of insulation coatings for cold-rolled non-oriented silicon steel in China and TISCO were briefly described in this paper. The main properties and application fields of different types of coatings and the progress of production technology in the coating development process in recent years in TISCO were introduced, mainly including the independent development of C5 thin environmental protection coatings, the localization of C6 extremely thick coatings, and the development of self-adhesive coating process. At last, the next development direction of insulation coatings were put forward.

It is also an energy conversion material with the largest consumption. It is the main product of energy conservation and emission reduction. It plays a key role in the generation, conversion, transmission and use of electric energy. The magnetic performance of electrical steel and the energy efficiency level of electrical appliances determine the success or failure of the "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality" strategy in the field of electrical appliances. With the implementation of energy efficiency upgrading of electric appliances in China and other countries, the downstream industry has increased demand for high-performance electrical steel. In this paper, the production status of electrical steel in China was introduced, and the impact of energy efficiency upgrading of electrical products on the structure of electrical steel products and the implementation of the "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality" strategy were analyzed. The selection of electrical steel varieties and the demand of electrical steel products were predicted. Some views on the development of electrical steel were put forward for conventional process and short process.

In viewing of the actual production process of rolling silicon steel on a single stand cold rolling mill of a steel plant, the information about the appearance characteristics and plate surface distribution of the emulsion stains on the relevant rolling mills were collected and analyzed, and the relevant theoretical analysis and actual field production were combined.Finally the relevant causes of the emulsion stains on the single stand cold rolling mill were determined and corresponding solutions were proposed, which provided effective reference for preventing the emulsion stains in the rolling process of other cold rolling products.

Grain-oriented silicon steel is a kind of iron-silicon binary alloy widely used in electrical equipment manufacturing industry. It needs special properties such as low iron loss, high magnetic induction intensity, low magnetic aging, good punching performance and high surface quality. Its production processes and equipments are complex, and its chemical composition is strictly controlled. According to the production processes and performances, it is mainly divided into ordinary grain-oriented silicon steel (CGO) and high magnetic induction grain-oriented silicon steel (HiB). Starting from the product requirements of grain-oriented silicon steel, the latest production progresses of domestic and foreign enterprises such as Japan's Kawasaki Steel and Nippon Steel, China's Baowu Steel and Shougang Corporation were introduced, and the technological processes and quality control points of this type of steel were discussed, and the key production technology of grain-oriented silicon steel were emphatically introduced. Finally, six new processes for producing grain-oriented silicon steel, including thin slab continuous casting and rolling, asynchronous rolling, magnetic domain refinement, production without traditional inhibitor, double grain-oriented silicon steel and magnetic field annealing, were discussed. The new technologies of silicon steel looked forward to the development trend of grain-oriented silicon steel.

The effects of normalizing treatment on microstructure, texture evolution and magnetic properties of 3.0 % Si non-oriented silicon steel after hot rolling were investigated in laboratory. The results showed that the microstructure of the hot rolled plate was completely recrystallized after normalizing at 900 ℃ , and the average grain size increased with the normalizing temperature rising to 1 000 ℃ . The average grain size was 222 μm , and the microstructure uniformity was obviously improved. When the normalizing temperature increased from 900 ℃ to 1 000 ℃ , the magnetic induction B50 increased from 1.661 T to 1.674 T. Low frequency iron loss P1.5/50 decreased from 2.323 W/kg to 2.282 W/kg, and high frequency iron loss P1.0/400 decreased from 18.37 W/kg to 17.45 W/kg.

Based on the desulfurization theory and actual production data analysis, the pretreatment desulfurization of silicon steel in a factory was studied. The results showed that the sulfur content of the secondary desulfurization slag was proportional to the sulfur content in the front slag,inversely proportional to the front slag residue, proportional to the primary desulfurization slag residue, and inversely proportional to the amount of desulfurizer. When the total amount of desulfurizer was constant, the sulfur content in the secondary desulfurization slag decreased first and then increased with the increase of the proportion of primary desulfurizer, and the best proportion of primary desulfurizer was 40 % . With the increase of temperature before pretreatment,the sulfur content of molten iron decreased first and then increased, and the optimum temperature before pretreatment was 1 370-1 400 ℃. The sulfur content of hot metal was reduced to 11.7×10
-6
by three times of slag removal and two times of desulfurization, which met the production demand of silicon steel.

The PLS (partial least squares) and BP network were applied to establish the online iron loss prediction mathematical model of silicon steel. The results showed that PLS and BP network have higher fitting and prediction accuracy, and BP network has higher accuracy. The model can be applied to on-line prediction of iron loss of silicon steel and development of new grade silicon steel products.

A texture data analysis method based on Matlab was introduced, through the secondary programming of MTEX, an open source project of Matlab, realizing the data analysis function of silicon steel texture. It can break away from the limitations of equipment, software and space, and conveniently deal with EBSD and XRD texture data, including data noise reduction, drawing (BC, IPF, PF, ODF, KAM), calculation of texture proportion, average grain size and grain size distribution.

The causes of the interlaminar misalignment of nonoriented silicon steel finished coils of the finishing unit were analyzed, focusing on the causes of the lateral deflection of the steel strip in the uncoiling area. The interlaminar misalignment has reduced effectively by improving the equipment accuracy in the uncoiling area, modifying the key equipment, and optimizing the production operation mode, which then improved the coiling quality.

A method for improving the structure of brushes in cleaning section of silicon steel annealing line was revealed in this paper. To configure the length of brush roller bristle area by gradient, and single-point control brush roller ascending and descending movement, the cleaning problem of steel strip rolling oil was effectively solved, which significantly improved the cleaning quality of sheet surface, reduced the defects of the final products, and meanwhile reduced the cost of production.

The tested grainoriented silicon steel was deformed at 30 % rolling reduction at 1 100 ℃ and 970 ℃ respectively, and was kept warm at rolling temperature. The influences of the rolling temperature and the holding time on the size distribution and volume fraction of inhibitor particles were observed by thermal field emission scanning electron microscopy. The precipitation amounts of Cu and Mn at the rolling surface,near surface and center of the grainoriented silicon steel under different processes were determined by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer. The results showed that the large size particles are the composite precipitates of CuS and MnS during the hot rolling process. The hot rolling temperature and holding time have no obvious impact on the precipitation of Mn-containing inhibitors. The lower the hot rolling temperature (970 ℃), the faster the precipitation of Copper-containing inhibitors is, but the holding time has no impact on the further precipitation of Copper-containing inhibitors, and inhibitors still remains in the precipitation state after deformation. With the extension of the holding time, the precipitation amount of copper-containing inhibitors increases after high temperature(1 100 ℃) thermal deformation/hot rolling.

Based on research of 0.27 mm gauge high magnetic induction grain oriented silicon steel, the influence of the laser scribing power, scribing frequency, scribing speed and scribing spacing on the core loss reduction and magnetic domain structure of grain oriented silicon steel were studied in this paper. It was showed that there were differences in the morphology and domain structure of the scribing lines in different processes. The scribing lines showed light morphology and the magnetic domains were inhomogeneous and scattered at low power, high frequency and high speed.The results showed that the maximum iron loss reducing rate reached 9.47 % under the parameters of 30 % scribing power, 50 kHz scribing frequency, 500 mm/s scribing speed and 5 mm scribing space. Besides that, under the interaction of laser scribing parameters, the iron loss reducing rate increased significantly with the increase of laser energy density, and the damage to the stress coating of grain oriented silicon steel aggravated with the increasing of energy density, which was not conducive to the magnetic domain refinement and the increase of iron loss reduction.

The evolutions of microstructure and texture of medium temperature Cu-bearing grain oriented silicon steel under hot rolling, first cold rolling, decarburizing annealing and second cold rolling were studied by EBSD technology. The results showed that the microstructure and texture of the hot rolled plate were uneven in the thickness direction, the surface layer was recrystallized grains, the center layer was mainly deformed grains, and the Goss grains were mainly distributed in the subsurface. The Goss grain was an unstable rolling texture, which will disappeared after the first and second cold rolling and reappeared after annealing, which reflected the genetic characteristics of Goss. After cold rolling, the texture gradually concentrated on α-line texture, and the higher the compression rate, the sharper the texture was. After annealing, the texture gradually migrated to γ texture.

The magnetic properties of the middle grade nonoriented silicon steel of 1.3 %-2.0 % Si were improved under the same testing standard when the coiling temperature increased from 630 ℃ to 720 ℃ , but the black line defect were appeared on the steel’s surface after rolling.The main reason for this was that the increase of coiling temperature changed the structure of the strip surface, and too much residual iron oxide was appeared on the surface of the strip after pickling, which caused the black line defects on the surface of the strip after cold rolling.The practice proved that the black line defects on the rolled surface could be eliminated by means of rewinding and secondary pickling, which could improve the magnetic properties and ensure the surface quality.

The effects of different cleaning processes on cleaning quality of grain oriented silicon steel were studied. Different cleaning quality corresponded to different primary grain size and magnetic properties of final products. The results showed that the cleaning quality of steel plate surface was improved with the increase of cleaning solution concentration , cleaning temperature and cleaning time. The difference of cleaning quality would lead to the change of the primary grain uniformity of the steel plate. The primary grain of steel strip with better cleaning quality was even and the magnetic properties of the final products was good.

In this paper, ANSYS Maxwell and ANSYS Workbench software were used to simulate the performance of magnetic and mechanical properties of WISCO DW series non-oriented silicon steel. The electromagnetic simulation results showed that the high frequency core loss of 0.35 mm silicon steel sheet was 48.9 % lower than 0.50 mm silicon steel, and the average efficiency of the motor could be improved by 0.8 % . It indicated that the use of thin gauge silicon steel could significantly reduce the core loss and improve the motor efficiency, while the silicon steel sheet with same thickness had little effect on the motor efficiency. The mechanical simulation results showed that the maximum stress of rotors with different thicknesses silicon steel concentrated on the magnetic bridge area of rotor and increased significantly with the speed. When the speed was greater than 12 000 r/min, the maximum stress was generally proportional to the speed by power 2.06 . At the same time, when the width of the magnetic bridge was less than 1.6 mm, the maximum stress value increased significantly with width gradually decreasing. To sum up, the use of thin gauge, high strength non oriented silicon steel can meet the development requirements of high efficiency and high speed of motors of new energy vehicle. This study can provide certain guidance for the research and development of non oriented silicon steel for new energy driving motor and the optimization design of motor structure.

Through the change of total oxygen content in the tundish during the ladle exchange moment and the composition analysis of slag in tundish, meanwhile combining with the effects of ladle slag carry-over in continuous casting and the defects of slab, the influence of ladle slag carryover in continuous casting was obtained. The results showed that ladle slag carry-over deteriorated the liquid steel castability, causing the blocking of SEN and the oxidation of alloy element and reducing the molten steel purity. In severe cases, it might cause serious results such as corrosion of SEN, solidified crust of tundish slag and so on. According to the characteristics of steel quality requirements, the development of differential ladle slag control process can effectively balance the product quality and the production costs.

The results showed that the last decade was an important stage for the rapid development of grainoriented silicon steel in China's private enterprises. Great progresses of grain-oriented silicon steel in these enterprises have been made in terms of production capacity, output and even the development of high-end products and the number of patents about grain-oriented silicon steel in these enterprises has increased year by year. But it could be found that the number and proportion of invention patents were still low, and the patents' quality was not high.The applicant with the largest number of patents was Baotou Weifeng New Materials Co., Ltd..

Based on wire-cut samples including cast slab, hot-rolled, normalized, cold-rolled and decarburized plates of 0.27 mm thickness high permeability grainoriented silicon steel by both Bi-bearing high-temperature and low-temperature slab reheating processes, the Bi particles were observed by BSE model of SEM and the semi quantitative analysis to the distribution of Bi was conducted by auger electron spectroscopy. The results showed that the undissolved Bi in molten steel would exist in the form of elemental particles as sphericity during the following different procedure processes, and both processes had the highest precipitate percentages of Bi after decarburizing anneal. In addition, both processes had the general same segregation regularity of Bi, each procedure process having obvious grain boundary segregation, and the Bi’s relative amount of grain boundary segregation up to the highest after decarburizing anneal.

In order to improve the stability of magnetic properties of grain-oriented silicon steel, the effects of basic alloying elements C, Si, Mn, S, Al and N on the γ phase transition temperature, the γ phase maximum content and its corresponding temperature were analyzed by Thermo-Calc software system. And the effects to the precipitation temperature, maximum precipitation amount of AlN and MnS phases were also analyzed. The results showed that with the increase of C content, the transition temperature, the maximum content and the temperature corresponding to the maximum content of γ phase are all increased. With the increase of Si content, the transition temperature, the maximum content and the corresponding temperature of maximum content of γ phase are all decreased. The maximum precipitation amount of MnS phase is mainly affected by the content of S. The maximum precipitation of AlN phase is increased greatly with the increase of N content.
